Transform the Kotapola division to a place with a aesthetic environment by conserving and sustaining the cultural and arts identity in the area while making suitable adjustments to the modern trends and maintaining cordial relationships with other sub-cultures.
Mission
Develop the division as a place where Sri Lankans can live proudly by conserving cultural roots of the area, promoting cultural identity possessed by the residents and making the cultural revival as a momentum of achieving development results.
Objectives
- Create a conducive cultural environment which provides a self-motive to people in nurturing national development policies.
- Build a society that respects multi-nationality, multi-culture and multi-religiosity in the area.
- Give a new cultural face to daily life of the people by conserving and promoting local cultural inheritance.
- Identify the causes which are detrimental to the sustenance of culture and mitigate their adverse impacts.
- Build a righteous society through promotion of sub-cultures relating to rituals, customs, practices and traditions.
History
This cultural center was opened by veteran artist K.A.W.Perera, on 08th May, 1999.
