About Us

Vision

Direct the student community to conserve and sustain the long-standing cultural heritage in the country while respecting the identical values of the heritage.

Mission

Make international community aware that Sri Lankans are inherited with ancient valuable cultural and art components with respect to dancing, drumming, folk songs and craft, through bringing these traditions to global level.

Objectives

  • Improve identical features and values among university students by introducing folk literature and arts.
  • Take measures to conserve our folk dancing and songs which have a long-standing tradition, for future generation.
  • Create at least a small group who is capable of conserving domestic identity for the benefit of future generation.
  • Promote attitudes on local cultural values.

History

This cultural center was opened by Hon. Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku, then Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs on 29.05.2003.
