About Us

Vision

The culture moulds and shapes our vision of future. The society without cultural elements will be thrown into total confusion. The development devoid of cultural orientation will be spiritless.

Mission

Conservation of classical cultural elements through divisional Cultural Centers and promotion of the culture nurtured upon such elements to present sensitive and disciplined persons to the society by conserving classical cultural elements and propagating the same among the public.

Objectives

  • To rebuild the eroded culture
  • To mould a sensible human generation by socio-cultural development in parallel to the growth of their legal awareness
  • To conserve classical cultural elements
  • To disseminate cultural elements among the general public
  • To promote the Cultural Centre to be a point of knowledge, recreation and rest
  • To enhance reading habit  and appreciative ability of the people living in the area through the library
  • To produce skilled persons in culture and arts by conducting diverse courses.
  • To produce experts on various aspects through readers’ societies and readers’ clubs.
  • To initiate researches on cultural elements that has not been subjected to further studies.
  • To explore places of archaeological, religious and literary value for conservation and promotion.
  • To mould a society devoted to their religion through religious programs.
  • To initiate a cultural network spread across the country by interacting effectively with Divisional Cultural Centers and District Centers.

History

This Cultural Center was declared open by maestro W.D. Amaradewa on 07 March 1999.
