Vision

To bequeath the heritage cherished and treasured by the Sri Lankans over a period of hundred years to the younger generation in a manner that it mingles well with the modernity.

Mission

To provide our fullest cooperation to illuminate the world tomorrow as well as today as a nation having a rich culture nurtured by the pure Buddhism that endows transcendental happiness along with secular benefits over hundreds of years through its splendor and grandeur

Objectives

  • To bring forth a nation that combines well with development policy of motherland and enjoys  its outcome effectively
  • To bring forth a nation that is integrated with the sub-cultures prevailing in the Division while respecting them.
  • To conserve and preserve dialects, customs, exorcism, secret treatments and other esoteric practices, offerings unique to the area.
  • To improve and uphold quality, wisdom, personality, morality and traditional techniques which are necessary to the advancement of the community in the area.
  • To promote and preserve traditional expertise and know-how upholding by the Sinhalese and the Tamils living in the division.
  • To create a peaceful society that facilitates mutual interaction among the Sinhalese, the Tamils and the Muslims residing in the Division.
  • Our prime objective is to raise a human with cultural values who can easily mingle with other communities while enriching his qualities, insight, personality, morality and traditional wisdom which assist the advancement of the society.

History

This Cultural Center was inaugurated by the Minister of Buddhasasana, Law Reform, Justice and National Integration, Hon. W. J. M. Lokubandara on 31 May 2002.
