Vision

To emerge as a sensitive and strong force that identifies the values treasured by the people in Sri Lanka who have a great culture nurtured by proud and magnificent characteristics of the Sinhalese culture absorbing new trends with discernment and bequeathing them to the future generation with care.

Mission

To integrate all sub-cultures existing in the enormous Sri Lankan society to produce a nation rich with good qualities and characteristics and thereby improving the spiritual development of entire society  which in turn invigorate the process of national development

Objectives

  • To be active in building a disciplined society by inculcating humane values in the minds of people.
  • To motivate the society towards appealing appreciation and discerning thinking.
  • To pave the way for people to absorb good ethics and norms in the Sinhalese culture and thereby achieving an impressive social development.
  • To safeguard the age-old culture from short term downtrends and educate younger generation to admire and appreciate local cultural values.
  • To act on divisional basis to draw the attention of the society towards entertaining aspects such as arts, culture etc.

History

The Huldummulla Cultural Centre which was built on the direction of His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapakse, and on the instruction of Hon. Prime Minister, Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka and Hon. Minister of Cultural Affairs and National Heritage, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene and His Lordship Mayor of Haputale, M. H. Sumith Samayadasa, was declared open by veteran artiste W. D. Amaris on 05 August 2006.
